PURPOSE:To make a panel easy to observe by shielding the wires formed on a back substrate and liable to serve as antennas for noises with an insulated conducting layer in a plasma display panel excited with NESA electrodes formed on a front substrate from behind via a protruded conducting member. CONSTITUTION:NESA films are formed by the masking method on the inner face of a front substrate 1 as NESA electrodes 2, a protruded conducting member 3 is provided on the outside of the surface, and a transparent dielectric layer 14 is formed on the whole surface except the members 3. Back electrodes 5 made of Ag with the preset shape are formed on the inner face of the back substrate 4, and they are connected to terminals 8 provided at the periphery section of the substrate 4 by wires 6. A conducting member 10 is arranged at the portion to be brought into contact with the member 3 when the substrate 4 is combined with the substrate 1, it is connected to a terminal 7 by a wire 18, the electrodes 5 are covered with a black dielectric layer 15, a spacer 12 preventing a discharge by the wires is provided to obtain discharge gaps from the discharge bulkhead of the display portion, and a conducting layer 13 is formed on it. |
