PURPOSE:To prevent deposition of dust or the like on the disk surface and to perform good recording and reproducing by forming a hard coating layer containing conductive particles. CONSTITUTION:The magneto-optical recording disk 1 consists of a substrate 2, and protective layer 4, intermediate layer 5, recording layer 6, protective layer 7, and protective coating layer 8 successively formed on the substrate, and further hard coating layers 3 on the back surface of the substrate 2 and on the coating layer 8. The layer 3 has <=10<10>OMEGA surface resistivity and is hardened with radiation. Moreover, the amt. of conductive particles in the layer 3 is specified to 10 - 70vol.% and the average particle size is specified to 1 - 100nm. The conductive particles consist of one or more oxides of tin, antimony, and indium. |
