PURPOSE:To obtain a solid electrolyte porcelain having high electrical conductivity in a high temp. range and small temp. dependency of the electrical conductivity by limiting the compsn. of porcelain consisting essentially of zirconia and yttria. CONSTITUTION:This solid electrolyte porcelain is zirconia porcelain consisting essentially of zirconia and yttria and having (2:98) to (10:90) molar ratio of yttria : zirconia and the electrical conductivity in a high temp. range is nearly independent of temp. This porcelain contains <=0.5% impurities, has <=80% coefft. of variance in the grain diameter distribution and is produced as follows: easily sinterable high purity powdery starting material having the above- mentioned compsn. and contg. yttria in the form of a uniform solid soln. is molded and calcined at a relatively low temp. of bout 1,350-1,550 deg.C. |
