An auxiliary device is provided for retention of the cylinder on one side, the cylinder having an exchangeable cover which can be pushed on to it laterally through an aperture in a machine side wall. On the other machine side wall bearings (11,18) are arranged above and below the cylinder pin extending out of the wall. The bearings have thrusters (12,17) accommodated in them which have one horizontal and one vertical locating surfaces (13,19,14,20) adjustable to the pins, their thrust direction being direction towards the pin slightly out of the horizontal. USE - To locate the cylinder of a roller rotation printing machine.
