<p>PURPOSE:To impart not only weather resistance but also flame-retardant properties to fiber- reinforced plastic moldings and form the fiber--reinforced plastic molding into a corrugated semicircular molding which is of light weight, and whose mechanical strength is increased, so that it is applicable to various usage by forming a heat-resistant air shut--off film on both faces of a fiber-reinforced board-like plastic member, corrugating the board-like plastic member and forming it into a semicircular shape curved in the waveform direction. CONSTITUTION:A flame-retardant fiber-reinforced board-like plastic member 4 is formed under pressure by using the bundles of for example, glass fiber 1 as reinforcing fiber, infiltrating a polyester resin 2 among the bundles of the glass fiber, and forming a heat-resistant air shut-off film 3, which is made of, for example, an aluminum foil, stainless steel foil and the like, on the front and rear faces of the resin-impregnated fiber mat during the process of forming the board-like plastic member under heating. Since air is shut off, this board-like plastic member has no possibility of combustion and ignition. Corrugated semicircular moldings 5 made of flame-retardant fiber-reinforced plastic are formed under pressure by using the bundles of, for example, glass fiber as reinforcing fiber, infiltrating a polyester resin among the bundles of the glass fiber, forming a heat-resistant air shut-off film, which is made of, for example, an aluminum foil, stainless steel foil and the like, on the front and rear faces of the resin-impregnated fiber mat during the process of forming the corrugated semicircular forms under heating, and using a corrugated semicircular-shaped form. This board-like plastic member retains mechanical strength as a structural material.</p> |
