Pistons (K1,K2,K3) with ferromagnetic elements (4) are arranged in a centrally split circular channel of which the inner or outer, left or right halves can be static or rotating. By using suitably positioned electro-magnets (8,9) the pistons can be coupled either to the static (1) or rotating halves (2). USE/ADVANTAGE - High mechanical and thermal efficiency; quiet, compact.
