Imparting a camber to pneumatic tyre blanks

Two discs carry between them the tyre's inner lining and a bulge is induced into it such that the inner is manipulated into the outer carcase to make an integral tyre. Preforming the inner into a bulge ensures that during manufacture when compresses air is applied to the inner as the two layers are brought together, then the inner is bonded into the inside of the tyre carcase at all points along the same axial plane simultaneously so that bonding is precise and controlled.
