An insulated window for motor vehicles, which consists of two window panes arranged at a distance from one another, the distance being maintained by means of a sealing frame which runs around the edge region of the panes and dry air at normal pressure being introduced between the panes, the degree of dryness of said air being maintained by drying means arranged in the region of the sealing frame, is to be constructed in such a way that it can be manufactured in a simple manner without adversely affecting its functional capacity. For this purpose, there is provision according to the invention for a prefabricated dimensionally stable frame (shaped frame) made of rubber or rubber-like plastic to be inserted between the two window panes and for an injection moulding which surrounds the entire edge of the insulated window to be provided after the two window panes have been laid one on top of the other, which moulding holds together the two window panes and at the same time places the shaped frame under pretensioning so that a sealed capsule is produced. <IMAGE> |
