PURPOSE:To perform automatic polishing of a two-rake drill by relatively moving the side of a truncated cone shape grinding wheel along an imaginary line of the drill, and thereby grinding the rake faces thereof. CONSTITUTION:A side surface of a truncated cone shape grinding wheel 20, having a bottom angle (d) equal to the angle formed between a flat plane orthogonally intersecting the axial line of a drill 10' and including an imaginary intersection line formed by the rake faces after performing the grinding by a prescribed amount the rake face, is relatively moved along an imaginary line of the drill 10'. Grinding of the rake face 11 is thereby carried out.
