<p>PURPOSE:To provide an oriented polyester film contg. few coarse particles and having an excellent formability and a long traveling life by compounding a polyester resin with a specified amt. of fine particles of a specific cross-linked IPN polymer and forming the resulting compsn. into a film. CONSTITUTION:A copolymer of a polymerizable monomer (e.g. acrylic acid) with at least 5wt.% (based on the total monomer) at least one cross-linkable polyvinyl compd. (e.g. divinylbenzene) is compounded with 1-40wt.% hydrophilic polymer not reactive with the copolymer (e.g. polyacrylic acid) to form an interpenetrating network structure, thus giving fine particles of a cross-linked IPN polymer having a mean diameter of 0.01-5mum. A polyester resin (e.g. polyethylene terephthalate) is compounded with 0.001-5wt.% the particles and formed into a film, which is used for producing an oriented polyester film suitable for a magnetic tape, etc.</p> |
