<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a monoazo lake pigment excellent in tinting strength, clarity, transparency, and flowability and useful for printing ink by replacing a part of a coupling component with a specific compd. CONSTITUTION:A process for producing a monoazo lake pigment by coupling a diazo component comprising an arom. amine having a sol. group (e.g. 1- amino-4-methylbenzene-2-sulfonic acid) with a coupling component comprising beta-naphthol or beta-hydroxynaphthoic acid and converting the coupling product to a lake simultaneously with or after the coupling, wherein 0.1-30mol% of the coupling component is replaced by a compd. of the formula (wherein n is 1 or 2). The obtd. monoazo lake pigment is excellent in tinting strength, clarity, transparency, and flowability as compared with a conventional azo pigment and useful for printing ink.</p> |
