PURPOSE:To obtain a color display element which can correct the imbalance of each displaying color by changing the area ratio or distribution ratio of each picture element distributed to each basic color in the display element which changes its displaying colors by turning on/off each picture element. CONSTITUTION:The area ratio or distribution ratio of each picture element distributed to each basic color is changed in corresponding to the spectral characteristic of the color layer held by each picture element. For example, the maximum transmittance corresponding to B-light is approximately a half of those corresponding to G- and R-light. Therefore, when the opening area of picture elements displaying B-light is doubled, the imbalance of each displaying color can be corrected without modifying the spectral characteristics of the color layers. |
