A revolute joint, especially for use in the rear-wheel suspension of a motor vehicle to allow the deployment of rigid joints and thereby attain distinct and exact spring motions which prevent the spring motions from endeavouring to steer the vehicle. The revolute joint comprises a spherical bearing part 11,12 and a mounting 9,10 which is axially displaceable at an angle to the said bearing part, thereby enabling mutual parallel displacement of moving parts without any alteration to the angular positions for the parts. The adjustability of the spherical angle joint serves to ensure that the lateral displacement does not jam up in the event of play, possible damage-induced tiltings, etc. but rather the lateral displacement is always guaranteed. <IMAGE> |
