PURPOSE:To obtain the title composition which enables bonding through gelation even at a relatively low temperature to give high bonding strength and has good long-term stability of viscosity by mixing a specified vinyl chloride copolymer, an inorganic filler, and a plasticizer. CONSTITUTION:The title composition is obtained by mixing a vinyl chloride copolymer containing 60-96wt.% vinyl chloride units (a), 1-20wt.% vinyl carboxylate units (b) of formula I (wherein R<1> is 1-8C alkyl), and 3-20wt.% monoalkyl maleate units (c) of formula II (wherein R<2> is 1-8C alkyl) with the weight ratio of the unit (b) to the unit (c) being at least 0.3; an inorganic filler; and a plasticizer. The composition enables bonding through gelation at a temperature as low as 10-160 deg.C, scarcely suffers bubbling and discoloration during the working thereof, gives high bonding strength, and has good long-term stability of viscosity; therefore, it can be suitably used, for example, as a sealant between metal plates, a coating material for the surface of a metal plate, etc., in the manufacture of an automobile. |
