Heat-resistant radiological protection material produced by homogeneously mixing a first pulverulent material consisting of a mixture of graphite (1) as neutron retarder (moderator), of gadolinium oxide (2) as neutron absorber, of tungsten and/or tungsten oxide (3) as material for protection against gamma rays, with pulverulent iron (4), and by moulding the resultant mixture under pressure at a temperature exceeding the melting point of iron, thus ensuring that the mixture is moulded by means of molten iron used as a binder. The first pulverulent material and the pulverulent iron are mixed in a ratio by volume of 90% or less to 10% or more. <IMAGE>
