PURPOSE:To obtain an impact absorber suitable for sports protector, etc., by forming a skin layer on the surface of a substrate comprising silicon gel. CONSTITUTION:A substrate such as a sphere of about 2-5mm. in diameter is formed of silicon gel such as CY52-264 Gel of penetration of about 100-200 (manufactured by Toray Silicone Co). After the surface of the substrate is entirely coated with a crosslinking accelerator such as SCA-101 manufactured by Toray Silicone Co., a semi-hard skin layer 11 is formed on the surface by heating to prepare an impact absorber 1. Then an impact absorbing member 3 such as an impact absorbing mat is obtd. by packing a large number of said impact absorbers in a bag 2 made of a high damping rubber material. |
