<p>An improved portable, self-contained apparatus (100) for spreading particulate material that can, by use of alternative flow improvement and control mechanisms, be used to dispense either dusts (such as insecticides) or granular materials (such as fertilizer). The spreader (100) has a detachable container portion (200) and a dispenser portion (300) which includes, in a blower chamber (308), a rotary vane (306) turned by a battery-powered motor (310), a recurved channel (316) leading from the blower chamber (308) to an outlet nozzle (318), and a triggering and activation assembly which sequentially activates first the motor (310) and the rotary vane (306) and then the flow improvement and control mechanism.</p> |
