PURPOSE:To prevent a cooling medium from lowering in quality by making the cooling system of a fuel cell main body a closed one by which the cooling medium is separated from other systems such as a steam feed system and a water utilization system which utilizes water condensed from exhaust gas fed from the cell main body or a reformer. CONSTITUTION:The cooling system of a fuel cell main body 1 is provided with a steam generating heat exchanger 12 which utilizes the heat of the cooling system and a cooling medium tank 13. The cooling system is separated from the exhaust gas system of a reformer 2 and a water utilization system in which water generated at the fuel cell main body 1 is utilized in a steam feed system leading to the reformer 2, so that the cooling system is a closed one. Corrosion of piping of the cooling system can thus be prevented and maintenance such as the quality control, etc., of the cooling medium of the cooling system can be made unnecessary and also the temperature at which exhaust heat is recovered can be heightened. |
