An asymmetric mechanical vibrator having external adjustment, for vibrating screens and other equipment, has a bearing housing 10 fixable to a sidewall P of the equipment and supporting through bearings a central portion of a shaft 40 which has one end portion 41 inside the equipment carrying an eccentric counterweight balance 37 with fixed axial positioning, and a predetermined mass and radial location. The shaft has a second end portion 42 located outside the equipment and carrying a main eccentric counterweight 60, 65 placed nearer the bearing housing than the counterweight balance 37 and presenting radial dimension and mass superior to those of the counterweight balance. The axial positioning, radial dimension and mass of the main counterweight are selectively variable to generate determined eccentric forces on the vibrator but in each case giving a same bending moment at the bearing equal to that produced by the counterweight balance 37. The lowest eccentric force setting is that obtained by dispensing with weight 65 and reversing plate 60 as shown at 60a. <IMAGE> |
