PURPOSE:To decide completion of ascending-slope appropriately even in the case of an ascent being so short that ascending-slope is completed before transfer to a steady running state at an ascent by detecting a reduction amount from a maximum value at a time after a throttle opening is shifted down and deciding completion of ascending-slope when a detecting amount exceeds a given amount. CONSTITUTION:A constant speed running control device controls a throttle opening so that an actual car speed is converged to a target car speed. In this case, since a controller 8 composing a constant speed running control device maintains a constant speed running state during ascending-slope, a transmission is shifted down by means of a shift down means 50 under a given condition. When a throttle opening is reduced by a given value or more from a maximum value at a time after shift down, completion of ascending-slope is decided by ascending-slope completion deciding means 51 and 53. Even in the case of an ascent being so sort that ascending-slope is completed before transfer to a constant running sate at an ascent. |
