PURPOSE:To realize a thin type at a low cost and to prevent deflection of electric current by constituting an inverter transformer of a plurality of divided transformers, and forming a drive winding or a switching timing winding on each transformer. CONSTITUTION:Transistors Q1, Q2 are turned on by power from a DC power source 1, and a voltage induced in a secondary winding Tra2 is rectified by a diode D to be applied to bases of the transistors Q1, Q2. In accordance with a voltage induced in a secondary winding Trh2 as a switching timing winding, the transistors Q1, Q2 are turned on alternately to induce a high frequency AC in a secondary winding Tr2 of an inverter transformer Tr divided into a plurality, so as to light a discharge lamp FL. According to thus dividing of the inverter transformer into a plurality, a winding is simplified so as to realize a thin type at a reduced cost and a current in a primary winding of a transformer is uniformed so as to prevent deflection of the current. |
