The medical system has a device (2,3) sending focussed ultrasound shock waves and a shock-wave tube (1) filled with liquid applied to the body via a flexible membrane (5). The patient end of the tube has a holder (7) that can hold a test body (9) in focus. The test body is flat and slides into the holder. The test body lies in a foil package (12) filled with coupling liquid. The test body is made of ceramic or plaster and has markings (10,11) for the focus region.
