PURPOSE:To shorten the time for a window to reach at a specified temperature to remove ice, frost, water drop, etc., in a short period by constructing a window defogger provided at a rear window, etc., for removing ice, frost, water drop, etc., with a band-shaped, resin-made surface heating element. CONSTITUTION:A window defogger 1 provided at a rear window 3 of a car 2 is composed of a band-shaped, resin-made surface heating element 4. The heating element 4 is meanderingly arranged over the entire surface of the rear window 3. The resin-made surface heating element 4 is formed by dispersing graft carbon into polyester and PTC characteristics (the property that a resistance value is increased as the temperature rises.) are varied according to a mixing ratio of the polyester with the graft carbon. Thus, since the resistance value of the element is small and much current flows through it at low temperature zone, sudden heating becomes possible to reach a specified temperature rapidly. |
