摘要 PURPOSE:To improve adhesion property and prevent separation between a metallic electrode and an organic layer by mixing the component of the metallic electrode in the portion of the organic layer near the metallic electrode so that the concentration of the metallic electrode component gradually increases toward the metallic electrode. CONSTITUTION:An organic phosphor thin film 13 of laminated light emitting layer and an organic hole transporting layer 14 made of organic compounds are provided between a cathode metallic electrode 11 and an anode transparent electrode 12. While the layer 14, the thin film 13, and the electrode 11 are deposited in this order on a glass substrate 16 having the electrode 12, the metallic component of the electrode 11 is present in mixed condition in the portion 13a near the electrode 11. The deposition in the portion 13 near the electrode 11 is made with two evaporation sources of 8- hydroxy-quinoline Al which is the material for the thin film 13 and Al which is the metal for the electrode 11. Changing the deposition speed and component concentrations complementarily according to the lapse of time, the concentration of the electrode 11 metal in the boundary area between the electrode 11 and the thin film 13 gradually changes from zero to a specified value. This improves adhesion property between the electrode 11 and the thin film 13, prevents separation between them, and improves contrast.
