PURPOSE:To make requirement for mechanical precision small, and to improve detection precision by phase-modulating relatively reproducing exciting light and probe light. CONSTITUTION:The reproducing exciting light and the probe light 4 are phase- modulated relatively in a reproducing method using an inductive photon echo to reproduce information by irradiating a recording medium 5 capable permanent or transitional hole burning by the reproducing exciting light and the probe light, and super-imposing inductive photon echo light emitted from the medium 5 by irradiation with the reproducing exciting light upon the probe light, and converting it into an electric signal by a photodetector 9. Thus, in an optical medium using the inductive photon echo, highly precise and well-repetitive and highly precise detection can be realized, and the degree of the requirement for the mechanical precision can be lowered. |
