<p>PURPOSE:To allow complete color reproduction only with the one picture elements which are respectively independent from each other and to improve a resolution and sensitivity by using a wavelength variable color filter as a color filter of an imager part and changing over the filter characteristics of the wavelength variable color filter. CONSTITUTION:The refractive index of a diffraction grating 7 which is a waveguide part of the lower part of the wavelength variable color filter 2 changes when a wavelength control current is injected to a wavelength control region 8 and, therefore, a shape shift arises in this filter and only the light of the wavelength (lambda) suited to this phase shift passes the wavelength control region 8 and is amplified. Then, red light transmits the wavelength variable color filter 2 at certain time and green light transmits the wavelength variable color filter 2 at other time and further blue light transmits the wavelength variable color filter at further other time if the wavelength control current is changed over. The respective picture elements are independent from each other and the complete color reproduction is executed with only the one picture element if the filter characteristics are changed over in time shearing. The resolution and sensitivity are enhance in this way.</p> |
