<p>PURPOSE:To make it possible to burn ceramic compacts without changing their characteristics, by burning the ceramic compacts at a higher temperature than the melting point of a metallic oxide contained in the ceramic compacts, when obtaining the ceramic sintered compact thereof. CONSTITUTION:In a varistor compact 15 taken out from a mold, a difference in level 15a of the varistor compact 15 is formed by a difference in level 11a of the mold 11. The manufactured varistor compacts 15 are arranged, stood upright in V-shaped grooves 4 of a placing base 3. Every one of the varistor compacts 15 is stood upright, in contact with the placing base 3, at the two points of the side face its thin wall thickness part 15c. The wall thickness part 15b thereof is not in contact with the placing base 3. Also, the varistor compacts 15 are so provided that one principal face of one varistor compact 15 is in contact with the other principal face of the adjacent one to it. The varistor sintered compact 15 thereof is obtained by burning the varistor compacts 15 at about 1250 deg.C during 60 minutes in this arrangement state. Continually, bakings of an Ag(silver) paint are performed on one and the other principal face of the wall thickness parts of the varistor sintered compact 15, and its metallic electrodes are formed. Thereby, the varistor having desired characteristic is obtained.</p> |
