DOOR LATCH SYSTEM FOR EMI SHIELDED ROOM The walls of a shielded room and a door in a wall have EMI shielding layers. A door gap seal connects the wall seal and door seal and prevents EMI leakage when the door is closed. Sturdy handles fixed to the door surfaces permit significant forces to be applied for opening and closing the door without causing failure. The door is releasably latched in the closed position by a self latching system that is independent of the handles and that is not subjected to door closing or opening forces. The latch system includes a spring biased roller catch mounted in a mortise in the door and engageable with a recess in a strike plate in the door jamb.
