PURPOSE:To permit a sightless person to walk, detecting an obstacle, without using a walking stick by constituting an ultrasonic visual device from an ultrasonic wave transmission/receiving element, means for measuring the time from transmission to the reception of the reflected waves, and a means or vibration element which corresponds to the variation of the transmission interval of the pulse sounds. CONSTITUTION:An ultrasonic visual device is equipped with an element 3 for transmitting and receiving ultrasonic waves through a control pulse generating circuit 1 and a transmission circuit 2. A comparator 5 is connected with the element 3 through an amplifying circuit 4, and a delay pulse generating circuit 7 is connected with the comparator 5, and the delay pulse based on the transmission signal as the standard for analyzing the reception signal is generated. Further, a counter 9 connected with a distance measuring timer 8 is installed, and connected with a relay 12 as vibration element through a D latch circuit 10 and a relay driving semiconductor switch 11, and the result of the measurement for the distance to an obstacle is transmitted as touch feeling to a sightless person. Accordingly, the sightless person can walk freely, detecting the obstacle, free from the direct touch by a walking stick. |
