<p>The device is associated with an object to be identified, such as an underground pipe or other embedded object, for example, in civil engineering works. The device carries coding elements which are detectable remotely, corresponding on a one-to-one basis to the object to be identified. The coding elements are in the form of a linear succession of thin sheets (1, 11) made of an electromagnetically active material, arranged on or in an electrically insulating protective support (9). The sheets (1, 11), of predefined dimensions (L, R), are separated from one another by intervals (D), also of a predefined value, to define a code detectable by electromagnetic means.</p> |
