Flat steel plate seal with inner and outer rings - has peripheral profiling and deformable elastomeric coating on both sides

The flat, preferably metal such as steel plate seal has smooth sealing surfaces and, before assembly, has a peripheral profiling, preferably a ridge. When assembled, the profiling is pressed flat to retain at least some residual spring force. Both sides of the seal are coated with a deformable, elastomeric coating. The seal consists of an inner (1) and outer (2) sealing-ring joined by bridge pieces (3). ADVANTAGE - The seal totally prevents the flow medium from escaping, for example between two components held tightly together along their smooth sealing surfaces, especially for installing gas fitments.
