PURPOSE:To obtain an overhead carrying type material storehouse high in space utilizing freedom by running on the upper part or the middle of storing shelves a transport bogie for transportation of material, raising or lowering a carrier from the transport bogie, and carrying out or carrying in the material between a storing shelf and the carrier by means of arms. CONSTITUTION:A control unit stops a transport bogie 2 just above a position X of a storing shelf 1, next, lowers a carrier 3 to the front of the X position. Still more, the control unit protrudes slide rails 4a, 4a to the X direction, and inserts the slide rails 4a, 4a into the bottom part of a core R1, R1. At the same time, hooks 4b, 4b also reach the bottom part of the core R1, R1. Thereafer, the control unit picks up the carrier 3 a little. When the control unit returns the slide rails 4a, 4a and the hooks 4b, 4b to the original positions, a roll R is housed in a loading space of the carrier 3.
