Polymer blends comprise at least one polyaryl ether ketone (I) and at least one thermoplastic polyimide (II) which has repeating units of formula (III) or is prepd. from a dianhydride of formula (IV): where R1 is a gp. of formula (V); and R2 is a gp. of formula (VIa)-(VIf): In (VIIa)-(VIf) R3 = 1-5C alkyl; R4 = satd. or unsatd. (cyclo)aliphatic hydrocabron, esp. 1-3C alkylene or alkylidene or 3-9C cycloalkylidene or cycloalkylene. R5 and R6 = Me or CF3.
