Disclosed herein is a blade unit (10) for use in an electric fan, which has the ability to convert the axially existing ambient air into a radially outward current of air when driven by an electric motor. The blade unit (10) comprises a rotor (12) operatively connected to the electric motor for rotation about its axis, at least two upper blades (14) extending upward from the rotor (12) in an inclined relationship with the rotor axis and at least two lower blades (16) extending downward from the rotor (12) in an inclined relationship with the rotor axis. The upper and the lower blades are so shaped and arranged that they can aerodynamically cooperate with each other to produce the radially outward current of air when the blade unit (10) is caused to rotate by the electric motor. |
