Metal base profile, comprising a wing (1, 2) incorporating, in a monobloc manner, various assembly elements (6 to 9), which are hollow or projecting, and extend along the direction of the profile and are adapted to complementary projecting or hollow assembly elements belonging to other metal framework parts, such as ledges or hinges, characterised in that, in combination, on the one hand the wing (1, 2) is symmetrical with reference to a median plane (5) perpendicular to its plane of extension, and, on the other hand, in section perpendicular to the direction of extension, and over a symmetrical half, the profile exhibits, from the outside to its centre, at least three assembly elements, namely a first element (6) for locking a ledge (10, 11) or wedge (12), a second element (7) for securing an elastic seal (13) or a ledge, and a third element (8) for fitting a wedge. <IMAGE>
