PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for the spray operation of insert gas at a high speed and easily and fully reduce the amount of residual oxygen in a can by a method wherein the inert gas is introduced under pressure into a metal can and a spray of the mixture of air and the inert gas is shot out by opening a valve. CONSTITUTION:When a spray stem 12 is pressed down after a high pressure nitrogen gas source is connected thereto, since a gasket 11 is disconengaged from a hole 7, a nitrogen gas is introduced under pressure into a can body 1 from the high pressure nitrogen gas source and, when the inner pressure of the can body reaches 10atm, the supply of the nitrogen gas is stopped and the spray stem 12 is returned to its original position. The nitrogen gas thus pressurized and the residual air in a space 3 are mixed together under a high pressure. When the spray stem 12 is pressed down again after the high pressure nitrogen gas source is discinnected therefrom, the interior of the can body 1 is made to communicate with the exterior. For this reason, a spray of the mixture of the nitrogen gas and the air under a high pressure in the space 3 is shot out. Since a cyclic spray operation of changing the pressurized nitrogen gas from the 10atm to the atmospheric pressure is repeated two times, the amount of the residual oxygen is 1/100 of the original amount. |
