PURPOSE:To make it possible to connect batteries in series by installing a contact member which protrudes around the center of a battery compartment when a first battery is accommodated in the battery compartment capable of accommodating vertically two batteries and which comes in simultaneous contact with both electrodes of the first and second batteries when the latter is successively inserted. CONSTITUTION:When a lithium battery 10 is inserted in a battery compartment 20 with a positive electrode 12 upward, the battery 10 drops naturally and the insulated periphery 18 comes in contact with a pushing down part 40b to push down an interlocking bar 40 against the spring action of a pulling spring 42. A hook 40 is unhooked from a locking arm, and a contact plate 30 is protruded inside the compartment 20 by the spring action of a torsion coil spring. When the second battery 10 is successively inserted into the compartment 10, a negative electrode 16 comes in contact with the upper peaks of the contact 30a of the contact plate 30 and the battery stops. Thereby, the positive electrode 12 of the lithium battery 10 is electrically connected to the negative electrode 16 of the lithium battery 10 through the contact 30a. |
