PURPOSE:To enable high-fidelity gradation recording by executing the light beam irradiation of light quantity at plural levels according to plural picture signals. CONSTITUTION:For the quantity of light at two levels in a laser driving circuit 26 to modulate the quantity of light at two levels, light quantity control (APC) is executed to one level. After completing the APC, a VIDEO 1 and a VIDEO 2 as picture signals are inputted from a controller and according to these picture signals, a semiconductor laser 10 is turned on/off while changing the quantity of emitted light high and low so as to irradiate a photosensitive drum. Then, recording is executed while changing density by an electrophotogaphic method. Thus, much higher fidelity gradation recording can be executed with. |
