<p>PURPOSE:To control an external device in a real time by setting a condition of count overflow signal generation by software without requiring read of the counted value of a timer by software. CONSTITUTION:Two count overflow registers 12 exist in a timer 1, and count overflow data in the up-counting direction and that in the down-counting direction are set to respective registers by the operation of software and are held there for the purpose of sending data to comparators 7 accompanied with registers. Comparators 7 are accompanied with two count overflow registers 12 respectively and compare data sent from count overflow registers 12 with count data and generate a comparator overflow signal 10 when equal comparison occurs.</p> |
