PURPOSE:To stabilize an oxide superconductive body and improve its superconductive property by bringing the oxide superconductive body in contact with a metallic material which has a higher oxidation electric potential than that of such a metallic element of V group oxides as copper or silver which constitutes a superconductive body. CONSTITUTION:A superconductive wire mainly consists of an oxide superconductive body which contains a vanadium element. A material that supports the superconductive body has a higher oxidation electric potential than an oxide which constitutes a conductor part of the superconductive wire. That is, as the material which supports the superconductive body which mainly consists of the oxide superconductive body containing the vanadium element, one or more kinds of metals selected out of copper or copper contained alloy, alminium or alminium contained alloy, and stainless steel is used, and processed into a line, tape, or plate, then sintered in the atmosphere of oxidation inertness or oxidation-reduction of, for example, helium, argon, nitrogen, or hydrogen so that the oxide superconductive body which has a high critical temperature and contains stabilized vanadium can be produced. Thus, it is possible to improve its superconductive property.
