PURPOSE:To achieve an excellent holding property of whiteness and to enable durability of a recording layer to be steeply improved by a method wherein a specific styrene-butadiene latex and polyvinyl alcohol are jointly used as an adhesive to be compounded in a recording layer. CONSTITUTION:A styrene-butadiene latex which contains 25-40wt.% of butadiene monomer and of which gel content is 60-80% and polyvinyl alcohol are contained as adhesives in a thermal recording layer. Further, for instance, a colorless or light colored basic dye and an inorganic or organic acidic substance are combined, and an application liquid containing those substances is prepared with water as a dispersion medium by dispersing them altogether or separately with a crusher. Then, the application liquid for the thermal recording layer which was prepared by mixing is applied onto a travelling base material via a transfer roll to be dried and the thermal recording material is obtained. |
