The device includes a moving support for a device (20) for performing repairs in said space, said moving support being suitable for insertion into the opening, means for guiding and supporting the moving support along the non-plane wall comprising a rail (29) for guiding and supporting the moving support, said means being suitable for insertion into the opening and being flexible in the longitudinal direction and rigid in the transverse direction. The device also includes clamping means (37, 37') for holding the rail against said wall, said clamping means being arranged to removably secure said rail on said wall, and means (32, 40, 40', 45, 46) for remotely controlling movement of the moving support along the rail.
