<p>PURPOSE:To obtain the title refractory segment improved in the heat transfer efficiency for gas stream by specifying the design of and dimension of each part for an electrocast refractory. CONSTITUTION:In an electrocast refractory consisting of alumina, or alumina- silica-zirconia etc., the objective refractory segment to be used for heat storage, heat exchange, etc., in the glass and iron/steel industries, consists of a refractory segment having the following design and dimensions: (1) wall thickness L: 35-75mm; (2) crosssectional shape: virtually tetragon; (3) there are recesses on the inside wall, outside sidewall and arris surface; (4) volume of the entire segment=(volume provided with no recesses)X0.4 to 0.85; (5) surface area per volume=(surface area provided with no recesses)X>=1.5.</p> |
