The heat exchanger is esp. an evaporator for an air conditioning system, or exchanger for a heating system. It has a housing (1), with a guide for introduction and removal of a spray appliance (4) for cleaning purposes. The housing has an opening (5) for entry of the spray appliance, and this is closed by a cover (7) carried by the appliance. Housing and cover act together, to function as guide.
