PURPOSE:To contrive the simplicity of the device by estimating the position of a vehicle with the use of a positioning means composed of a GPS input part, a directional sensor and a distant sensor to choose to store a most suitable point nearest to the position thereof while displaying necessary map data. CONSTITUTION:A GSP input part 22, a directional sensor 23 and a distant sensor 24 take in information in regard to the position of a vehicle. A first CPU 21 estimates the position of the vehicle from the information. A map corresponding ROM stores necessary data in regard to a map. When a driver wants to display the map data, a specific key of a keyboard is pushed. The CPUs 11, 21 estimate the position thereof to store the estimated result in a RAM 43 and further a plurality of the most suitable points in the neighborhood of the position thereof are stored in the RAM 43. When the point nearest to the position thereof from among the most suitable points on a display 51 is specified with the use of a light pen 31, the most suitable points are stored in the RAM 43 to display the necessary data. |
