PURPOSE:To restrain the rise of the cost of a whole device by simplifying the constitution and the action of a display means. CONSTITUTION:Information on the present position of a vehicle is added to a first CPU 11 from a GPS input part 12, a bearing sensor 13 and a distance sensor 14 and the present position is estimated. Data on a map which is an object to be displayed is stored in a ROM for data corresponding to a map 32 and intermediate data or output data is stored in a RAM 33. When the data of a map is desired to be displayed on a display device 41, the present position estimated by the CPU 11 is stored in the RAM 33 when a specified key is depressed. Next, several pieces of candidate points near the present position are fetched and stored in the RAM 33. Continuously, the candidate point which is the nearest from the present position is selected among several pieces of candidate points and stored in the RAM 33. Simultaneously, it is displayed on the device 41. |
