PURPOSE:To enlarge the versatility of cards by utilizing inherent information of commercially available magnetic cards such as cash cards to lock or unlock the electronic latch of a locker. CONSTITUTION:A card type locker system is composed of a main substrate unit 1, a card reader unit 2, an electronic latch unit 3, and a power supply unit 1a. Inherent data such as address and name, etc., stored in a general magnetic card such as cash card, etc., are initially set by a setting maintenance card after the recording position and number of digits are specified, and then stored in a key-data memory unit of the unit 1. When a user uses the locker, data on a specified position, the number of digits are compared with inherent data stored in the key-data memory unit to make a decision, and when both the data coincide, a signal is transmitted to the electronic latch drive unit of the unit 3 to lock or unlock a latch. Thus, the card system with good operability can be introduced by utilizing the existing cards. |
