<p>PURPOSE:To implement multi-cast by one transfer by preparing an address field representing a maximum value and a minimum value of a destination address and its attribute and an attribute area and allowing each exchange unit to copy and deliver a packet accordingly. CONSTITUTION:When a tag field indicates it that 'both a maximum value and a minimum value of a destination address are valid', a packet is outputted to an output port 13 satisfying a relation of partial minimum value 23 <= output port number <= partial maximum value 24. For example, when a partial minimum value 23 is 01 in a binary number and a partial maximum value 24 is 11 in a binary number, the packet is outputted to ports 13 whose port numbers are 1,2,3 among four output ports 13. Then an attribute 25 of a tag field of the packet outputted from a port 1 is revised into 'valid of only a minimum value of a destination address', an attribute 25 of a tag field of the packet outputted from a port 2 is revised into 'invalid of both a maximum value and a minimum value of a destination address', and an attribute 25 of a tag field of the packet outputted from a port 3 is revised into 'valid of only a maximum value of a destination address' respectively.</p> |
