PURPOSE:To produce a polyester film improved in antistatic properties, water resistance and adhesiveness by applying a specified coating fluid to at least either surface of a polyester film, orienting the film to crystallize the polymer, heat-treating the film and laminating it with an antistatic layer. CONSTITUTION:70-99.5wt.% vinylidene chloride is copolymerized with 30-0.5wt.% monomer copolymerizable therewith (e.g. vinyl chloride) at 40-80 deg.C in the presence of an anionic emulsifier and/or a nonionic emulsifier to obtain a coating fluid comprising a vinylidene chloride copolymer latex of a mean particle diameter of 0.05-0.3mum and a solid content of 4-50wt.%. The coating fluid in an amount to give 1-20g/m<2> of resin is applied to at least either surface of a polyester film, and the film is dried, stretched uniaxially or biaxially to orient and crystallize the polymer, heat-treated at a temperature higher than the melting point of the copolymer by at least 30 deg.C and laminated with an antistatic layer comprising an ionic polymer of a molecular weight of 3000-100000. |
