A self-regulating electric heating element has a resistance heating body made of a ceramic material with an electric resistance having a positive temperature coefficient. Thermally and electrically conductive linking or uncoupling elements are arranged on the heating body made of ceramic material. The PTC ceramic material is provided with an electrically conductive coating on the support surfaces of the linking or uncoupling elements. In order to make it possible to produce such heating elements automatically, ensuring at the same time a good contact of the PTC ceramic (4, 4') and a good heat insulation, the ceramic PTC material (4, 4') of which the heating body is made is soldered or brazed to the uncoupling or linking elements (1, 1'; 6; 9, 10). |
